Network administrators are important because they ensure the stable operation of computer networks. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network software, and communication links.

NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR PROFILE

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain computer networks and systems including software, mainframes, VPNs, routers and other physical hardware

  • Install and configure network equipment to update or fix software issues

  • Update virus protection software to keep data and communications protected

  • Monitor computer systems to improve network performance for computer systems and networks

  • Communicate networking issues to other employees and management, especially in training new users

  • Fix software and hardware configuration issues for users on-demand or from inspection of the systems
